Both rooms open onto personal viewing decks and are equipped with electric blankets for those chilly winter evenings, walk-in cupboards, and an array of amenities from the eco-friendly Healing Earth range. The cosy living area boasts a flat-screen TV, DSTV, a fireplace, a four-seat breakfast nook and a comfy L-shaped couch. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for all your self-catering needs with a fridge, microwave, electric oven, kettle, and a Nespresso machine to start the morning on the right foot.
Moving outdoors, a built-in braai is the ultimate spot to spend your evenings, cooking up a storm with your friends or family in true South African fashion. Otherwise, warm up around the firepit, swapping stories from the day or toasting marshmallows. Our wood-fired hot tub is arguably our most popular feature, and a spectacular spot to watch the sunset or stargaze. During the day, cool off in the sparkling swimming pool, game view from the comfort of a rocking chair on the viewing deck or take a nap on the hammock.
“What a wonderful stay! The small things do matter, and this is what made our stay magical! The accommodation was super clean and we were met with the most delicious fresh bread. The hosts were so flexible and accommodating. The stay was peaceful and relaxing, and the environment was stunning! Our little family really enjoyed our weekend away. We’ll be back! And highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a blissful getaway from the city.”
“The game drive was incredible with the most knowledgeable guide driving us around! My husband and I are runners and we loved running the roads through the reserve and seeing animals occasionally along the way. Great walks too! This was the highlight of our trip to South Africa. Can't say enough how much we enjoyed!”
The history of Melozhori is the story of the Bhorat family and their search for a getaway in nature to call their own. With no history of agriculture, but a passion for conservation and wildlife, the family acquired an old sheep and cattle farm in 2008 on the historic wagon-trading route between the Overberg and Cape Town.
